Claire Levacher is an anthropologist and postdoctoral fellow as part of the MinErAL project. After a thesis at EHESS in 2016, entitled From Earth to Mine. Les chemins de l'autochtonie en Nouvelle-Calédonie, she completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the New Caledonian Agricultural Institute on small and medium-sized mining companies, their role in mining production and their place in New Caledonian society from an economic, social and political point of view. She is now working on the circulation of international standards related to the rights of indigenous peoples in mining development contexts, impact and benefit agreements and corporate social responsibility strategies in New Caledonia and Canada.
