From August 22 to 23, the MinErAL research network, the Sustainable Minerals Institute (SMI) at the University of Queensland, the Pacific Centre for Social Responsibility and Natural Resources (PACSEN) network and the National Technology Research Centre (CNRT) held a seminar in Brisbane.
The seminar provided the opportunity to present the results of research carried out by the MinErAL network, as well as the different research networks and organizations involved. It brought together researchers from Australia, Canada and New Caledonia who are working on mining issues.
Thierry Rodon presented three papers and moderated a roundtable discussion on the interactions between social and natural sciences in mining research. He also participated in a panel discussion on the scientific and epistemological challenges of mining research networks.
