Martin Grenon is a specialist in rock engineering in the mining sector. He is a Professor in the Department of Mining, Metallurgy and Materials Engineering at Laval University since 2001. He has a PhD in mining engineering from the same institution. Before working at Laval University, he was a consultant and worked in the mining industry. His researches explore geomechanical characterization and design for rock engineering works. Since 2005, he has directed many research projects on the geomechanic of mining sites in Nunavik, Nunavut, James Bay and Labrador Through.
